Pega 20 color palette

Use this palette for encoding values of data sets with up to 20 classes. Please be aware that visualizations become harder to understand, the more colors are uses. Try to find a way to work within the 10 categories palette before picking 20 categories and use the 20 categories only when there is no other way to achieve a solution.

To evaluate whether you really need 20 categories visualized, ask yourself:

  • Can I combine several categories into one group?
  • What do I really need to show?
  • What decisions are made with the information provided?
