Attachments

The attachments widget holds any additional documents needed to work on a case. It sits within the utilities panel of the Case Page component. In Pega, the attachments widget is unlike attachments in consumer applications; the attachments widget is what houses attachments and links, and can categorize, rename, and customize the material it holds.

Usage

When uploading documents to this component, all data is added to the queue before content is uploaded into attachments. This is important for auditing.

The attachments widget may sit inline where enough space is available. The user only needs to access the file browser, which opens in a modal. When there is not enough space to include the attachments widget inline, there are other ways of attaching files beyond the file browser. This approach is used in the default attachments widget.

Drag-and-drop is not available on mobile.

New for 24.2, attachments that are browser-supported images, videos, audio, or PDFs now display within a Lightbox dialog for review without having to download them first. Additionally, it is now possible to move through each attachment sequentially while in this mode.

Content guidelines

Ensure the field label for an attachment field is specific. For example, instead of “File” or “Attachment”, say “Photo ID”.
