About Constellation components

Components are UI elements that perform a specific function in the Constellation design system. For example, the text input component lets users type text into a form field. Components are the building blocks that shape an application and help users complete work.

The Constellation design system makes designing an application simple by offering predesigned and preconfigured combinations of components, called patterns. These patterns offer consistent user experiences and predefined workflows that guide users to get work done. Use these patterns to deploy efficient application designs out-of-the-box.

As a designer or low code developer, you can build your application with patterns, and refer to component documentation to understand what each component does within a pattern.
